Have your supervisory employees attend this live webinar to learn critical legal information that all supervisors need to know about managing employee performance, and hiring. This presentation reviews:
- Do’s and don’ts for performance reviews, and performance improvement plans (a model performance improvement plan template will be provided).
- What to do when employee medical problems affect job performance, including reasonable accommodation and leave requirements.
- Common mistakes with performance management, and how they can increase the risk of legal claims for “wrongful termination."
- How to handle termination meetings.
- What a supervisor should or should not say about an employee who was terminated, including internally with other employees, or in response to reference inquiries or requests.
- Hiring Interviews: Contrasting appropriate versus inappropriate "off limits" questions/comments during an interview, and lawful versus unlawful hiring criteria.
- What to do if a new hire does not have the expected or necessary skill set, or you need to revoke an offer.
- Managing special legal sensitivities when hiring a competitor's employee.
Attendees will receive detailed PowerPoint slides, additional written materials, and an attendance certificate for the training. Registrants can download the program handouts by clicking the gotwebinar handouts icon after accessing the program.
