Leave laws remain one of the hottest topics in employment law for California employers. This program reviews key new developments and provides an A-Z review of California’s vast array of employee leave laws. The program also addresses important leave topics including:
- Anticipated New California Regulations: Key changes reflected in the California Fair Employment & Housing Council’s proposed regulations regarding the California Family Rights Act (“CFRA”) and New Parent Leave Act (including significant differences with CFRA leave).
- Expansion of Parental Leave to FMLA-Ineligible Employees: How California’s New Parent Leave Act affects both large and small employers with at least 20 employees within a 75-mile radius, and necessary updates to leave policies, practices, and notices.
- Sick Leave: Updates on California’s sick leave law, and which other U.S. states/cities impose paid sick leave requirements.
