  • Anticipated New California Regulations: Key changes reflected in the California Fair Employment & Housing Council’s proposed regulations regarding the California Family Rights Act (“CFRA”) and New Parent Leave Act (including significant differences with CFRA leave).
  • Expansion of Parental Leave to FMLA-Ineligible Employees: How California’s New Parent Leave Act affects both large and small employers with at least 20 employees within a 75-mile radius, and necessary updates to leave policies, practices, and notices.
  • Sick Leave: Updates on California’s sick leave law, and which other U.S. states/cities impose paid sick leave requirements.
  • Recent Case Updates: Including denial of an employee’s FMLA interference claim on the basis that she failed to notify her employer of the need for leave as soon as practicable.
